Confetti – How to get it right

A young couple walk through confetti at their wedding.

Sounds simple, right? Just have your wedding party throw confetti at you, and voilà! But creating that perfect confetti shot involves a bit more finesse than you might think. So, I’m gonna share some tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years to help you create the perfect confetti shower.

The type of confetti MATTERS

When it comes to confetti, not all types are created equal. For achieving the best photos and videos, I highly recommend using paper confetti. Why, you ask? It’s lightweight, which means it catches the air beautifully and floats longer. While dried leaves and flowers can look gorgeous, they tend to drop quickly to the ground, resulting in fewer confetti moments captured in your photos.

How to throw it right

Believe it or not, there’s a bit of a technique to the confetti throw! To get the best results, I will always encourage your wedding guests to throw their handful of confetti up into the air rather than directly at your faces.

This way, the confetti will gently rain down around you, creating that picture-perfect moment.

Walk Slowly

You don’t need to charge down the confetti walkway, walk slowly and enjoy it! Hey, if you stop in the middle for a quick kiss, even better!

"I’m a firm believer that when it comes to confetti, the more, the merrier!"

Seriously, think about it: what’s not to love about being showered with a tonne of confetti making for some seriously epic photos and videos!

So, don’t hold back! Encourage your guests to GO FOR IT; after all, this is your moment to shine!
